Blown Rear Axle Question
My friend has a 2003 F150 STX 4x4 5.4 auto maybe 3.54 gear or the gear size under 3.73's. non posi. well we went up bird hunting about 200 miles to get there and about100 miles just driving the roads and he was noticing when spinning the rear tires it was the drivers side more then pass.. and when we got on the bridge he power braked it and it burned posi. then we went down a clay road we were cutting in 4-6inches spinning since he has [font=verdana, geneva, lucida, 'lucida grande', arial, helvetica, sans-serif][font=verdana, geneva, lucida, 'lucida grande', arial, helvetica, sans-serif]mud [/font][font=verdana, geneva, lucida, 'lucida grande', arial, helvetica, sans-serif]tires[/font][/font] he never lockede it in 4wd but spent most of the time spinning. now going home we went fast there was a [font=verdana, geneva, lucida, 'lucida grande', arial, helvetica, sans-serif][font=verdana, geneva, lucida, 'lucida grande', arial, helvetica, sans-serif]hemi[/font][/font] messing with him and i bet the the speeds were 90-100 mph for alot of miles before he gave up so he would not get a [font=verdana, geneva, lucida, 'lucida grande', arial, helvetica, sans-serif][font=verdana, geneva, lucida, 'lucida grande', arial, helvetica, sans-serif]speeding [/font][font=verdana, geneva, lucida, 'lucida grande', arial, helvetica, sans-serif]ticket[/font][/font] and cut it back to 75mph. now to get to the point. he was backing his boat into the ocean he cut it [font=verdana, geneva, lucida, 'lucida grande', arial, helvetica, sans-serif][font=verdana, geneva, lucida, 'lucida grande', arial, helvetica, sans-serif]sharp[/font][/font] and he said the he heard a large snap and stoped looked he said it felt like the pass. rear tire fell off and when he went home it ran fine untill he had to back into his yard it did it again any thoughts, any suggestions?
