I have been using the Hypertech PPIII for 10,000 kms on my 05, F350- and Love it. I would like to aid my milage/power a little more, what improvments do you suggest that can "help" this programmer?
- should I consider air intake upgrades?
- Will exhaust help the milage? Turbo, or Cat Back?
The next step I would look at taking is an intake upgrade to ease up the flow of air taking it out of the mouse maze. Check out the options we have at the Motorhaven shop, with customer comments and reviews here, there are a lot of options, my preference would be the closed box Volant intake or the S&B which is virtually the same but with a clear lid no chrome lid:
I would do the exhaust sytem first. The factory intake is pretty decent for just having a Hypertech tuner. I would suggest a turbo back system with a cat delete pipe. Do you have emissions up in canada? If you dont need a cat, I would go without. The MBRP muffler has a low tone at idle and barks nicely when your getting on it. Exhaust will help your EGTs stay lower, and help your turbo spool up a little faster.
Of course always keep your tire preasures at spec, change oil and filters regularly. Only drive down hill for best results lol! Oh ya...I like a bed cover if you dont have one.
