Due to rust and the mount getting weak, it busted and now the truck is leaning pretty bad. Its driveable, but it pulls hard to the right if i let off the wheel. The Truck is a 93 4x4 5.0, Auto, single cab long bed. Im wondering if it is fixable, or if im going to have to take it somewhere. I have the tools, or if i dont, i have access. Is there anywhere online where i can buy this part? Any help would be appreciated
Junkyard is the best place to go. I believe it's riveted to the frame, you'd have to drill them out and replace with grade 8 hardware. Also the shock and coil spring are obviously going to have to come out.
As far as i can see, the nearest junkyard is about 2-3 hours away. Are there any lift kits that replace that coil mount? I would even be tempted to go that route to.
thanks for the link biggreentank. I did find what i was looking for, however its the version with double shock instead of single. Will this hurt anything?
Yeah it should work. If your truck is 4x4 it should already have another stud sticking out on the axle where another shock would go. If not the you can just leave the front shock off if it doesn't bother you.
