Dash Panel Vent Differences?

On My F250 SC, I am in need of the drivers side A/C vent register louvered little thing. I found one at a junkyard and thought I cut a fat hog. It's too small. It is about 1/2 inch shorter then the opening on my dash. Are the vent register sizes different on factory and dealer A/C. The dash I took it from was in pretty bad shape and I was so happy to find one, I really didn't pay much attention to the model of the truck . Did these vents change size throughout the years?

When you say same size, what size is that factory or dealer? The one I need is 2 7/8 by 2 1/2 inches and the one I got from the junkyard is 2 1/2 by 2 1/8 inches.

Factory Air : If you measure the back of the vent where the duct goes on it is 2 7/8" x 3 1/8".

There should be 3 adjustable vanes.
