Good progress made, Vacation is over now though
In the two weeks I managed to:
- Cut a slot in the rear of the cab to fit a third brake light, also made and spot welded a stiffening plate to the inside of the cab with mounting studs for the light.
- Filled and sanded the entire cab, including re-shaping the roof that was a bit beaten up and de-seaming the exterior of the cab using lead.
- Painted the entire exterior of the cab in high build filler primer ready for final finishing and painting.
- Stripped the tailgate to bare metal and repaired oil canning in the center.
- Hand made the front lower rear fender repair patches and butt welded them in place.
- Widened the rear fenders by 1 1/2" by cutting up two pairs and welding back together, then completely lead filling all joins.
It was a well spent two weeks, I think that all of the above would have taken me about 4 months if I had had to do it all on the usual Saturday only each week.
I hope others are making good progress on their projects too.
Cheers
Lee
That is awewome that you were able to get so much done in so little time. A big thumbs up to you.
Now that summer is over I can get back to work on my truck, I actually get more work done on it in the winter than in the summer. Summer gets filled with house projects, camping, lake trips, boating, hunting, fishing, etc, etc, etc. This sumer I did manage to get the truck out to a few cruise nights
Thanks for the update
Bobby
