1965 Automatic

How much trouble is it to convert a 3-speed to a automatic on a 1965? I found a 1967 automatic column and will this bolt up to my dash? Also can I change to power steering and what years will bolt up? I have the truck disassembled and I think it would be crazy to put it back 352,3-speed with no power steering.

Russ, it's not too hard to make the swap, I'll agree it's crazy not to add power steering as well, any thing through 79 will work. I'd put disks on the front as well while you got it down.

from what i understand the steering column will bolt direct, it may or may not plug into the factory wiring. i do not know which engine you are considering using. if you plan on using the 352 for the truck, i would certainly recommend it as an excellent motor. the 352 will give you real nice low end torque and it is a little better on gas than the 390. an rv cam and a four barrel will really bring the 352 to life! ...good luck
