Cooling system flush
Where in the world are the engine coolant drain plugs located on a 1993 4.9L engine? I want to drain the sediment from the block and totally flush the system. The good 'ol boy who owned this truck previously ran it through a heck of a lot of mud, and it seems to be in everything. The coolant reservoir has mud inside and out.
Wish me luck everyone.

go to the auto parts store and buy the 10 dollar flush kit.
you install an intake into one of thelines taht goes to the heater core, and you hook a garden hose up to it and just run water through it till the water is clear.
You drain it out the top of the radiator with a special attachment that clips in.
after you have no more sputtering and such from the water and are confident the system is full, you start your vehicle and run it like that for 5 or 10 mins whatever you want. it cleans the system out very well!!!
sshould get a lot of that dirt out, considering yoru expelling the new water going in, and adding more by the bit.
if your worried about buildup, prestone makes an additive you put in with the water after your done which will clean up residue on the inside. you run it in there for so many hours, to long and i guess it will eat up hozes. but it will clean out the stuff well.
I spose once your done with that, try some what is it... barsleak? the stuff with the pellets you add in to yoru antifreeze when you reflush the system again after useing the other additive.
That should cost you around 30 dollars tottal for everything.
a power flush at the garage, if they have one, will cost 80+
