Is the pump bad?
My roommate has a 2wd 93 F250 IDI with the ZF 5 speed. There seems to be a bad leak somewhere near the injection pump. I can watch the pump and see sprits of fuel drip down onto the engine. We have checked for loose/cracked lines but all seems well there. Any ideas?

Make sure the small coverplate on the passenger side of the pump (Cover for the fuel adjustment screw) is tight and gasket not leaking, otherwise fuel leaking out of the bottom of the pump means time for a rebuild. I bought mine from diesel care and performance on e-bay for a great price, and its a good pump with 6 mon warranty.

what part of the pump is the fuel coming from .. front or rear where all the lines attach? the fuel comes from the lift pump to the filter to the injection pump at about 7 psi and attaches to the injection pump on the rear center fitting where a special o ring is located. This fitting may also be loose. Each cylinder is fed via individual pressure lines on the rear of the injection pump and one of them may be loose or the ferrul may be cracked inside the attaching nut.
As Spectramatic stated ,,, there is a weep hole in the bottom of the mounting flange of the injection pump that allows fuel to leak out when the internal seal wears out to prevent fuel from getting into the lube oil system.
