Long tubed headers?

After speeding so much time on my truck project I am considering spending more money and treating myself to a set of ceramic coated headers, but I am a little concerned about where long tubed headers are routed on these trucks. Do long tubed headers cross over the cross member or do they go under and below the cross member? I do not think I want them if they are real low and instead I would prefer shorties.

Purchased set of Hooker long tubes for my 65F00 and found they fit but there was metal to metal contact where the flange rest against the passenger side engine cross member. Took grinder and removed enought metal to eliminate contact. Removed starter, not sure necessary, but did have to lift engine slightly to route the header into possition. If you have the Bendix power steering setup, or intend to install in future, it will be a problem. The Saginaw, or Ford power steering box will not be a problem. At the flange used Hedman offset extentions get around the transmission crossmember issue.
