Cold Engine + Warm Day = Hard Starts
The truck starts fine in the morning. But at 3:00 in the afternoon when my son goes to start the truck to come home, when the temperatures are warm, but cold engine, the truck has trouble starting.
It cranks very strong, but struggles to actually start. It stumbles, almost stalls ..... a few seconds later, it corrects itself, and idles, and runs, fine. It also makes a strange noise when it is having trouble starting .... like an air-caused, suction-caused, plastic-part-flapping noise. Or something like that.
It seems to be getting worse.
My code scanner (which has picked up "pending codes" before [codes that do not fire the check engine light, such as light load miss]) picks up no codes.
Any ideas?
Thanks alot.
Jim
