Question 01 F250 SD Missing

Just got my truck last week. 5.4 Triton, auto trans. 4x4 all that good stuff that comes with the XLT package. Truck was running great, now its not bad, but not right. It seems that around 55 60 mph, going up a hill, doing around 1500 rpm before it downshifts the truck misses. I dont know whether or not this is a fuel issue, or maybe some sort of tune up issue. I ran regular unleaded in it, which ive been told isnt the best of ideas, but everybody says it should run ok on that, Any ideas?

Your truck is designed to run on regular unleaded fuel. You might try hooking up an OBD II reader and see if there are any codes stored. There can be codes stored without the MIL coming on. Mine started missing and had stored codes indicating a bad COP, and which one it was. It also could need some normal maintenance items, like fuel filter, air filter, plugs etc. If you don't know the vehicle history, you may want to look into replacing these items for peace of mind.

I know it's only one small suggestion, but after reading some old threads here on this site, I sprayed a load of water displacing lubricant down on the injectors. I guess moisture tends to collect there. Liberal praying with WD40 has taken care of this same problem, twice, on my '02 5.4 SD.
