92 f-150 custom

Well went and looked at it today. It's a 1992 f-150 custom, regular cab, 8 ft bed, duel gas tanks, power brakes/steering, rear ABS, radio, A/C and that's about it.

Has 127,960 on an I-6 engine. Been a work truck, has a red vinyl interior, the seat is a little messed up, has a tear in it. The A/C wents work, but the thing to change the direction of the air is broken in some of them.

Locks and windows are manual, both windows work fine. But the locks are impossible to pull up with your fingers, you have to use the keys.

All lights and turn signals work, but the front lights have condensation inside of them. Anyone know what's up with that?

The bed is scratched to hell, and has some rust spots, but i'd put a bed liner on it.

Front bumper has some rust spots, and so does some of the truck, not a lot at all though externally. Mainly in the bed.

The tail pipe of the muffler is a little rusted, but looking under the truck everything looks alright. Some white exhaust was coming out, not very far and not too white.

The front right wheel well, if you look inside of it has a small hole in it.

The engine at first took a little while to start up, but it's been sitting there for a while, I turned it on and off and it turned on quicker each time.

Has a moon roof and a bug shield. The moon roof some black thing was hanging down, looks like it lost its adhesivesness. He said he'd go down to $4500 for it, it was $4995, I have $5700 to spend on a truck. It's been sitting there for a while so I think i'll be able to bring it down some more.

What do ya'll think?

To be honest with you I think its a waste of money, I was thinking you were gonna say something like $2500 or $3000 for it. I would keep looking you should be able to find something much nicer but maybe a bit older for around the same price. Thats just what i think some other may think differently.

That sounds not bad, could be the area I am in but you can find 93s and 94s in great shape for around $12,000 canadian.

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 05-May-02 AT 03:34 PM (EST)]Ok checked out the '91 today. VERY nice.

Body was in perfect condition, no rust, one small dent on the bed and a small scratch on the back of the mirror. Inside looked perfect.

Comes with Power windows, power locks, cruise, tilt wheel, camper, 76k miles, duel gas tanks, tires have 27k miles on them but look worn. A/C works good, radio, cassete. Brakes are very good, no squeeking, stop very well. The handling is very nice. The bed has a mat liner. Everything is in very good condition. Oil changed every 3k miles. Engine sounded good, the muffler tip looked good still.

One thing I noticed was a red line on the speedometer at 55 mph or 60 mph I forget. Anyone know what this means? The guy didn't know.

$6k and wouldn't budge, it was originally listed as $7k so he brought it down. I told him, to consider it sold and we'd call back tomorrow after we talked to the bank.

What do ya'll think?
