C'mon, guys, let's hear 'em!! I'm getting ready to do some exhaust/muffler work and want a real-world comparison on sound.
I will say a thank-you prayer tonight for anyone who posts up their V-10 sound tapes.

Is that stock headers, Y pipe, single in\out 50 series clip with or without a tailpipe. If with, what kind.. Also, is that with the stock wannabe y pipe or a true y pipe?
Hey TeamMudd, I would like to send one to you, but what would I record it with and how to send it? Headers,h-pipe, no cat, true duals with Magnaflows.
But my truck is off road only and is never used on a public hwy.

the sound clips with STOCK MANIFOLD (cast iron) have the STOCK "Y" PIPE. or what is called a "T" pipe, or "RAM" pipe (i've heard a couple people call it that since it looks like a ram head, whitch it kinda does).
he put a original 50 series 3"in/out right at the cab/bed break (reg cab truck), and ran a strait 3" pipe out of the muffler that ended right before the rear axle with a turn down. i took all these sound clips apx 6-7 feet from the rear pasanger side fenders of all but the last truck (one with a video).
i got a couple more coming from fellow FTE members, i'll post them up when i get them down loaded to my web site!! thanks again guys!
a buddy of mine has a v10 f250 and just put a banks exhaust on it. stock manifold, stock y-pipe and banks exhaust sounds like a bumble bee. super quiet no ***** at all. he wants it to sound good not to loud but good and deep. will a y-pipe get him there or does he need headers

Y pipe will definetly help. headers give it that DEEP rumble when pared with the Y pipe, and muffler. headers will liven up the "no *****" too. there was a HUGE difference when i installed mine.
now for the 3-valvers CAPTCHAS has put extensive funds in the power adders and found that they (3 valve V10's) are tuned just about as far as can be. i belive he got the best results from plug in power adders (chip, programmer, ect...), hardly any gain was found in exhaust mods!
Teamudd do you have a sound clip with a 70 series bb muffler ...........?
I, too, would like to hear a sample of this muffler. While the others sound very, very good, I can't have my three kiddos losing their mid-range hearing just b/c Daddy wants the Ex to sound good!!
and I have heard that the v10 sounds like crap with exhaust. These clips prove that wrong, with headers sure enough sounds like a stang. Awfull tempting to put headers on my truck but I'll leave that one to my stang. Keep em coming
I have just the cat then into dauls out the back behind each wheel it sounds nice and its not loud unless you put it to the floor mine is a reg cab and I cant hear it in the cab if someone lives around Grand rapids mich and wants to record the sound clip let me know

When this was recorded, the truck had Banks headers and Y-pipe, stock cat, and a Gibson cat-back. The Gibson muffler is supposed to be equivalent to a FM 70 Series.
