hey guys, having problems with our 2001 ranger, only has like 50,000 miles on it. Has all thje gears except reverse and doesnt slip. The valve body has been changed. Any suggestions as to what could be the problem?

 

no reverse, but all other gears work is a problem with the low/reverse clutch, it's only applied in manual low and reverse but in low (1st gear) the sprag will also hold so it will still work. The problem could be either the clutches are worn out (not usually the issue because they really don't see much use) or the piston seals have gone bad (most likely) or the passages have become blocked in some manner.
