moisture ?

I have a 1998 5.4L tritan V8. Started missing and check engine light came on, I brought it home, still off but I think that last nights down poor has something to do with it. Two other times when it rained, I started my truck and the idol was rough, restarted and it was ok. I will go out and start it soon, just want things to dry out. Is moisture a common problem, and why?

Pull off the COPS coil & use diaelectric grease on the boot.

It probably wouldn't hurt to change the boots. They are not expensive. And like Rick said, use dielectic grease on them.

Accle is making replacements now... around $25 a boot. Some have found the OEM boots at less than $20 a boot on ebay.

HUH? I got Standard brand boots from a local auto parts place for $3 each.

Granted that's Jobber price, but they can't be more than $5-6 normally.

They are the same as OEM.

I'm sorry... not just the boots, but the whole assembly. I meant Accel is selling the whole coil - boot and all. The price is per COP.

Geez, it's like we don't communicate correctly and people are out for the kill.
