More questions: Engine /transmission
I am in the process of upgrading the suspention and tires and have already replaced the exhaust system, rebuitl the breaks, added air bags etc. I am fast coming to the conclusion that with all the upgrades I will not ever trade this truck which is fine because I love it. It is the nicest piece of equipment i have ever owned so I want to start the learning process for maintaining and/or upgrading/replacng the engine, transmission and gear.
I have read the diesel power magazines and know there are upgrades for everything. I obviously do not need to rebuild this truck to Monster truck specs but would like to learn as much as possible so when I need to deal with an issue such as a new transmission or turbo I already know what I want.
So my first question is what transmission and gear would be best for my rig as far as performance , durability and fuel economy. I have 4000 lbs in my bed and tow a 19' flats boat. Thanks ps any comments on turbos would also be appreciated

They both build bullit proof transmissions for PSD.
For Gear:
Need to have an aftermarket temp gauge pod for the tranny, rear differential, EGT's, etc. Especially since the high payload and towing needs.
Good luck!
