What is CCV and what is the mod. Also is there any down side to pulling the sound dampning off the exit side of the intercooler. Didn't know if it is there to keep it cool.

CCV= Crank Case Vent. Currently it vents into the intake. This is what is causing all the oily residue all over the intercooler boots and you are sucking oil/dirt through your turbo and intercooler.

The mod is, you replace the plastic piece in the intake tube the "doghouse" on top of the valve cover vents into, turn the doghouse around and get some oil proof rubber tubing (Ace Hardware or equivalent) and vent it out towards the back of the truck.

Click on my name and go to my gallery. There are pics. I did not turn my doghouse around in the pics though.

Are you talking about the wrapping on the driver side intercooler pipe coming to the intake horn? No I have actually heard there is a positive outcome if you take that stuff off. Gives you more turbo whistle. Its a pain though.
