I have a 2005 F250 Powerstroke and when it is hooked up to my halmark trailer I must have the running lights on in order to turn the interior lights on in the trailer. I know that there is a way around this but I cant find my manual and I have searched the web and cant come up with anything. Im sure it is as simple as putting a fuse in somewhere but who knows...
Well, you can wire the interior lights to the 12 volt "Battery Charge" Terminal on the 7-way connector if you like, but then you have to have they key in the ON position inside the truck to make it work.
If you're planning on doing a lot of things inside the trailer, your best bet is probably to hook up a battery and wire your interior lights to that. Of course, you can then wire the battery to that 12V pin and have your truck top off the battery while you're on the road.
