1982 F100 progess with new 300

I just thought I would give a little update on the progress of my 82 F100 with the newly rebuilt 300. I've been tuning the carb a little more lately. Still needs some minor adjustments but I would highly recommend the swap to anyone that wants a little more power out of their 300. I haven't been able to do a gas milage comparison because this is my project truck and I've only put about 100 miles on it the past month. I will drive it more in the spring and next summer though.

Over the winter I plan on replacing all the bushings in the suspension and body mounts. Hopefully that will get rid of all of the squeaks and bumps. I plan on using ployurethane bushings from energy suspension. Here's the part numbers Axle pivot 4-3121g, leaf springs 4-2122g, radius arm 4-7109g, and body mounts 4-4107g. Those are part numbers from summit racing and should run about $130. Im hoping it will make it ride much better. I will probably do the brakes at the same time as the suspension.

I did a gas mileage test with my gps and found out that I am getting about 14 mpg. I figure that isnt too bad considering. I plan to put on bigger tires to reduce the rpms a little. The motorcraft 2150 is a lot better than the old holley 390. It seems to get better driveablility and mileage.
