Glutten for punishment
Hey guys, been a minute since I logged in. Lot of work, thank God! I have a 2003 6.0 that have problems, granted. Can't get away from the Ford's, Ford's been in the family for over 35 yrs. Looking at a used 2001 F-450 7.3 diesel dump. Need to know the reliabilty history on this year for the 7.3's. Will I be getting another pig or is this year truck and engine pretty good. Need help in decision.

The reliability history for the 7.3 is top notch. The problem wih most the 7.3s is they are getting a lot of miles on them, makes it harder to find one with low milage. A f-450 dump bed, if it hasnt been beaten to 
and has had the oil changes when it should, then it could be a good truck.

not to be a bit ch but your in the 94.5 -97 forum, but the 7.3 IMO is better then the 6.0 reliabilty but the 6.0 will still out pull that year 7.3. essintially thier the same engine as the 94-97 except for a few fine details like injectors and intercooler
