Does anyone use the EZ change drain plug

Does anyone use the EZ change drain plug the one from Geno's garage I am thinking about getting one and installing it on my F350 it looks like it would make changing the oil a lot cleaner and faster. Was wondering what the pro's and con's might be other than the $50 cost.

well, that's overpriced. there is a thing called a Fumoto Valve (www.dieselsite.com) that replaces your drain plug. it has a lever that you move, and then the oil comes out. i have a nippled version, you can attach a hose, open and close as you please, with no mess. it's $25 too, so it must be twice as good.

I was looking at them as well but was kind of wondering if it was possible that the valve might open going down the road like if a rock hit the lever so that kinda made me think some thing else would be better. Is there anyway that is possible with the Fumoto Valve because the other one the valve is enternal no lever.

Just put mine in last weekend with the oil change. It has a ring clip that comes with it to lock the lever in place.

BTW - The first time in 3 years the bottom of my oil pan has been dry

a rock won't open the valve. the lever has to be pushed out of it's locking groove, (spring loaded) and then with lots of resistance, you need to pull the lever down to open it. no way it's going to be opened without a hand.

I agree. I've run mine for over 150,000 miles, and I'm somewhat of a product tester. LOL.

I like it but all you guys appear to be 4x4 guys. Any 2wd guys run one of these.Ii'd be afraid of ripping it off driving down these bumpy roads in LA.....

I swear there's one bump I go over everyday that I swear my front factory mudflaps scrape the ground if I go too fast...... I'm gonna chalk them up real good one day and see if they actually do....!!!!!

I also think I need new front springs. 243K miles have taken a toll on them....

Look at the picture again. You would hit your anti-sway bar way before you would the valve. Even though your 2 wheel drive, the sway bar should be in the same location.

I'm going to look tomorrow.

What thread is on the trans pan? I know Fram makes those Sure Drain quick drains. Maybe one of those have the same thread as the trans....

I bought the Fumoto drain valve as well and a few other modifications from dieselsite and it is a great modification. I got mine with the nipple and it is super easy to change my oil and have a container that holds two full oil changes.
I def recomend it!!
