94 f150 transmission problems

94 f150 transmission problems

i am in the process of getting a 94 f150 for $300. the engines runs perfect and the only problem is when shifted into drive the truck does not move it will just rev up. i havent had time to look at anything and i can get a transmission for $100 so i want to make sure that it is the transmission and not something else.

did you check the linkage?

does it have fluid in it?

what kind of trans are you getting for $100?

are you sure it works?

Are you asking for a guarantee that the transmission is the problem?

does the trans shift into reverse?

If the engine spins, you know it works. When you have it in drive check the driveshaft. If it spins then you know that it is not the trans. If it is a 4x4, the will take a bit more work.

Let me second the what kind of trans are you getting for $100?

i havent had time to look at the truck closely..i will try and look at it this week. the guy getting me the transmission knows a lot about cars and he knows what he is doing. he restores cars and knows some people and he can get a some nice deals on anything i need. he is also going to put the transmission in for me to.
