what is the difference between short and full length headers? which is better for low end torque? i have a 1991 f-150 4x4 302 automatic 3.55 gears. will i see a gas milage change?
Shorties are made to bolt up to a stock exhaust. They basically look like your manifolds, but flow better.
Full length, or long tube headers have much longer primary tubes, that should help build more hp/torque than shorties. They usually require exhaust mods to fit.
You should see better mileage with either, depending on how you drive. They will not help alot by themselves, but combined with a better flowing exhaust system, the gains will be noticeable.
