Cool major Tail light problem

I have a 98 F150. My driver side rear turn signal and brake light stopped working several months ago. I took both rear light assemblies out and reversed them and the drivers side assembly work on the passengers side so I don't think the tail light assembly is bad. Then last week I lost all my tail lights. Teh passengers side turn signal and brake light still work. I replaced my multifunction switch and that did not work. I check my light switch and it seemed to be working properly. What am I missing?

I would Look under the bed on the drivers side to make sure the wiring to the front is in good condition. There is a plug over the drivers side rear axel near the frame where the rear wiring harness plugs in. Maybe that has come loose or maybe you have some worn or frayed wires.

under the hood, drivers side by the fire wall there is a fuse box. look in the owners manual for which fuse controls the rear lights.

Thanks teepee542. I went wiggling wires in that wire harness right above my spare tire and my lights came on. Thanks for you help.
