Huntsman left over a disagreement with the site. They were selling Truck Nutz and there was a very realistic looking picture on the left side of our screens. For a family site that does not allow most of the garbage that other sites do, it was in horrible taste (IMHO).
It's like a homeowner's association...sometimes you have to put up with rules/restrictions you don't always understand or agree with but the bonus is that you get to live in a clean neighborhood.
I like the FTE neighborhood for a bunch of reasons, and will put up with the occasional pulled post as the cost.
Now, if I can only find a way to convince the HOA to let me park a 1956 F-600 dump truck out front on the street...

Brian,
Thanks for the explanation. I like Randy, had no idea what was going on. Sure seems that this issue could have been resolved with better results.
Hate to loose Huntsman But I do appreciate his principles..
Brian - Thanks for the 411. By the time I clicked on the thread reference, it was apparently deleted.
Now that I am up to speed, I must admit to being very disappointed that a product as tasteless as "Truck Nutz: was the subject of the disagreement. No doubt ad revenue figured into the equation. Too bad the dialogue about it went to discord. I noticed the ad and had a negative reaction to it. Happily, it seems that the nutz thing is only attractive to a select few, since I have not seen many of them in So Cal. Maybe that's a local phenomenon.
I find that in my advanced years, I have apparently spent much of my patience alotment in my youth, so I have little of it now and am more "set in my ways". But when I weigh the benefits of this site against the negatives (like the occassional nutz ads), I am happy to stay and participate. It's certainly worth my $15 dues to be free of most of the banner and pop-up ads.
Code3 - I hope you come to the same conclusion. I enjoy your posts and humor.
Mike - Ditto about losing Huntsman. Bummer.
Peace.

It takes a strong will to leave this site over an advertisement. Maybe stubborn would also be appropriate. If you've been tramatized by this ad, you need to leave and it's been nice. Personally, I've seen much worse ads on car websites. Like I said in the earlier post. It takes a whole lot more than a set of nutz to make me leave my friends in here. Just my opinion! I say get over this and move on.
Guys.... if you have feed-back there is a thread about this in the User Feedback section. Post there, not here. Simple as that. We are taking this issue under review and it has nothing to do with revenue (do you really think 1 advertiser out of 70 is gonna impact the bottom line, especially since we turn down offers to run porno and gambling ads on a regular basis).
Closing this. Please folks, relax and await our review on the matter. Thanks.
