I am rebuilding a 1965 F-100 and I am certain the engine has been changed. It is blue and it does say 352 on the front right side of block. It has two belts on it instead of one and the fan has six blades on it.Would this be a car engine?Where would the engine ID be located and would this tell me the size and year engine I have?
Rus, The two belts would indicate that it has or has had power steering, or AC. As far as I can tell, there is no good way to ID the engine from the outside. You can do a through the sparkplug hole measurement of top dead and bottom dead for stroke measurement.
Post that measurement or go to Stock Mans site and find what it relates to. :-)
Luck bud,

In the still cool hours of the night, you can hear chevys rusting away.
You can get the casting codes from items such as the heads, manifolds (intake and exhaust) and the block which will be behind the starter. There are also build dates on each item. If all of the dates match within a few weeks then your engine was likely swapped in as an assembly. The Casting codes for trucks engines sometimes have a "T" identifier within the code, but not always. Post what you find and we'll take a stab at it to see what it all means.
BTW--Why is it that you believe the engine was changed?
