Does anyone have close up pics of a stock 4.9L Inline 6? I'm trying to restore my engine bay back to stock form as it's been molested by one (or more) previous owners. I bought a Haynes for this and other issues, but the book has little to offer in terms of illustrations for the 4.9 6cyl.
So far I have been able to re-organize the electrical, but the truck has amost all of the vacuum lines plugged or missing. The choke cable and the accompanying hardware are missing, and the carb is missing some parts.
Any help would be great or if someone could take a few pictures of there's that would be perfect. Then I can re-post with step-by-steps for future owners looking for some info.
What are you gonna do about replacing vacuum lines. Ford used some miserable plastic type that layed down near the manifold....they crumble after many years.
I replaced all mine with rubber hose and rerouted them more efficiently through a 1/2" pvc.
...sorry guys I failed to mention it's an 82 3spd w/OD. My intentions are to not only repair my truck, but put together a very detailed "Hot To" for others who run into the same problem as I did. It seems the literature (that I found anyway) on these trucks is vague and poorly illustrated.
