2001 Sport Trac Explorer-Door cannot open

2001 Sport Trac Explorer-Door cannot open
Am having problems with the right side back door. It cannot be open, it seems the button does go up when pushed to unlock and goes down when pushed to lock. But it cannot be open. Can you'll please help on what might be the problem?
