Hello to everyone. I am getting ready to replace the plugs and flush the coolant system on my 02 F-150, 5.4 FX4. I have studied up on the thread about the plugs (Thanks a bunch, that'll be a great help). I'm just not real sure about the radiator flush. My truck has about 97000 miles on it and to my knowledge the coolant has never been changed. The flush I got said to fill the radiator with water and the bottle of flush. Do I pull the upper radiator hose off and fill the radiator that way, or do I fill the reservoir and let it work it's way through that way? How do ya'll flush these things? I've never worked on a newer model vehicle with no "radiator" cap. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated.
I was planning to flush it out this week. If anyone has ever flushed their radiators out, I would appreciate knowing how it works best, through the reservoir or directly through the upper radiator hose? Thanks for the help.
I am thinking about doing mine this weekend too. My truck has just under 60k miles on it and I was wondering the same kinds of things. Searching forums and articles brings the following information.
