Hi I need help today I was driving then all of the sudden the AC starts to blow on defrost instead of out the regular vents? I cant figure it out have any of you had this happen before.
Also look behind the glove box for the small vacum lines that go to the ac /heater plenium valve they have been known to fall off,
The lines under the hood are on the passenger side just in forntof the ac evap /heater core box going to a black canisterjust behind the battery.

mine does the same damn thing.i could bring it in under warranty but i dont want them to flash my computer so i live with it.if you figure your problem out let me know so i can check it on mine.thanks.
Regardless of whether you've got a gas engine or a diesel, your vacuum lines for the climate control run from a large black plastic reservoir over on the passenger side fender into the cab near the big, aluminum A/C lines.
The lines are very small in diameter, I'd say around 3/16" or so. They will be plastic with a rubber tip on that vacuum reservoir.
Its a diesel. I wasnt aware that they had that many problems with the ac. hmm kinda sucks will ford replace it since there are so many complaints about it. Im way over the warranty.
If you have auto climate control, That is your temp reading is digital , then you have electric motors that control the doors. You will need to test the motor and control head.
The bulletin says it is just under the new vehicle warranty.
By the way, do you have electronic shift on the fly 4x4 on it, too? A broken line on that, especially if it is before the solenoid, might also make you lose your climate control. Again, those are little plastic lines, and they'll join up with that reservoir right next to the climate control ones. The line will go over to a plastic solenoid valve and then split off to each steering knuckle via plastic lines.
