trans modulator??

trans modulator??
I have an 82 f250 2wd with a c6. I wanna replace the trans modulator with a non-adjustable one. The parts place shows two or three different options availbale based on the color of the stripe on the side of the modulator, but they are unable to tell me the difference between them. My problem is that my modulator is so rusted that I can not tell what color was on there origianlly. Can anyone tell me what color i need to my specific truck..and maybe what the differences are between the colors?

I was in the same boat as you... but I did find an adjustable one available through TCI for the ford C6 trans. Seemed to work for me, might be worth a try if your still having problems. I guess you want the part number too...well, unfortunatly I lost it, but trust me when I say it's there.

I got one at autozone that was adjustable.Arent all of them adjustable?You could always go to the parts store and look down the vacuum port to see if theres an allen screw.I think it would be easier to adjust one than to mess with the color stripe thing.

What I was really trying to say is that they don't usually need any adjustment, just install what ever color and drive it. Make any decision to adjust after that. I've found that most of the time none is needed anyway, else you may have another problem.
