Starter burnt up...
Hi,
today when i started my f350, 6.9 diesel, the starter work slowly, the engine don't start, and the starter didn't stop.
i run out of the car like a flying weasel and take the batteriecables off.
but this need time, and there was a lot of smoke in the street, coming out from the starter, he was hot enough for cooking fish and eggs for one hour, and liters of coffee.
now i need an new starter.
i find this one:
In the descripition i read this starter is for the 6.9 and the 7.3 machine.
It's from WAI.
My dead starter ist a mitsubishi with a magnetic thing from motorcraft, but i can't find this here in europe.
Does anybody an idea of the WAI starter?
Quality and fit this starter in my 85 f350??

The Mitsubishi starters are the best. I have heard several guys say that availability of the Mitsubishi starters is getting worse.
I have not heard of the WAI starter so I can't comment on it.
