Distributer

Need an electronic distributer for a 428, which one should I get? Engine is in a 55 Ford pickup.

You can buy a new one or buy a conversion kit for your stock one! MSD, Mallory, Accel are good ones. Or run the pertronix and convert the one you have. The choice is yours.

Thanks 428CJ, does this engine have a drive for the oil pump off the distributer, and can I go and get a 390 distributer?

You are welcome. 390 or any FE will work except for HD Truck (you dont see them that often). Order it on line or go to a parts store.

I recently purchase an electronic distributer for my 390 ansd it is built like an HEI distributer for a chevy. There is no electronic boxes needed just a hot wire.

It's called after market and is a hanging offense to put GM stuff on Ford motors, do it on FE's carries twice the penalty.

It is really a nice billet distributor, the only offense a had was paying 400.00 for it. It sure will clean up the engine department. a 390 in that little mustang don't leave much room
