i was out wheeling today and i noticed the truck shifted hard while i was in 4low.i wasnt going fast just down a trail road ,maybe 10 mph tops...is it just becasue of the lower gearing that it felt harder ? i didnt notice any hard shifts in high.
also i noticed a "whine" in 4low. again i assumed it was becasue of the lower gearing.
as you can tel i dont use 4low all that much.

Yeah that's all normal. There's a big difference in torque between high and low gears. Low usually does some knocking when you shift, it just hits hard. The whine is normal as well, just don't run hard in low and you're good. I usually kick it back out when I don't need it.

i beat the crap out of mine in 4 low and everybody i wheel with runs them hard in low so i would say don't worry about it.and trannies do shift harder in low.
yeah, in low and cutting just puts alot of stress on things, and especially on packed stuff ie packed dirt and somthings got to give, be it the tires or your drivetrain.
