Dana 60 swap
I have a 99 f350 srw with a dana 50 in it with 3;54 gears and abs, I have already spent over 1500 dollars in repairs. Would someone please tell me in detail how to do a dana 60 swap in this truck before I have to throw away more money in this junk front axle. Hopefully it is a bolt in job with the correct front axle because I am real close to selling the truck and giving up on Fords all together this is the sorriest truck I have ever owned with 120,000 miles on it. You would think it had 400,000 miles on it as much as it needs worked on!

I would say that you could find a bolt in 60 swap, and at the least to have the leaf perches and or shock mount moved isnt a big deal. just measure where you frame rails are and such and take the 60 to a local welding shop. I'm sure it wouldnt cost that much to have them moved.. I wouldn't know what models or years to look for, but don't give up on fords. Just replace the junk 50 with a 60 and I'm sure you'll be much happier. Plus you can brag about having an axle swap in your rig.

i think you can just replace your d50 diff with the d60 front diff from a later year f350 srw 4x4.they come stock with d 60 diffs now.just make sure the donor diff is the same gear ratio.if you get a diff from a 2002 or newer it should be a bolt in swap.
