A small question...I've added a down tube, pillar pod with Autometer trans temp, boost, and pyrometer gauges and a Superchips tuner...very cool, but now what! The downtube and tuner didn't exactly set the world on fire in my opinion and the gauges just give me something else to watch while I'm driving down the road...all in all not worth the $700+ I paid for it. I was looking for something to help out with MPG and maybe a little extra HP when I need it. If it added anything at all I can't tell it. What should the pyrometer be reading during ~ 70 MPH cruise? It seems to hold pretty steady at ~ 800 deg most of the time unless it is an exceptionally hot day and I'm towing something.
bout 800 sounds about average, the intercooled trucks are down around 600
custom programming is the way to go most of the superchips programs are bland.
also raising fuel pressure will get more response, and what are yall running for an intake setup? if you still got the stock box on there it aint gonna help cause now you can exhale much better but can you inhale better?
When I put the superchips tuner on mine I noticed the difference I can even tell the difference between the tow safe and HP programing . Get your self a stop watch and do some testing maybe the tuner isn't working right.
