my buddy is moving and was cleaning out his garage when he came across some cylinder heads he forgot about, he said they came off a 302 but didn't know what vehicle. found a casting number on them D70E or D7OE, are they decent heads, will they be better than the E6's I have?
they are 1979 302 heads with 1.78"/1.45" valves and 69cc chambers.
302's that year made all of 131 to 152 HP depending on 2V or 4V.
Realistically the best heads you can usually get for stock common heads are the 1987-1997 E7TE heads. Many times you can find them for free from Mustang guys, drop them at a machine shop to get the head bolt holes punched and a valve job, and you'll be ok. A little love from a die grinder to remove the exhaust thermactor humps and you'll be pleasantly surprised...
