Pet peve!
I wish people would finish their post with a closing commentary on the fix, so we can all learn.
On a medium like this we are stabbing in the dark trying to help, not knowing if the suggestions we make are followed and what the results are.
I personally hate throwing money at a problem and would rather diagnose it correctly, and fix the offending part.

I totally agree, and make it a point to thank those who close out their posts with whatever solved the problem as a reminder to do it. I've also seen others who check threads and politely ask the originator, if possible, to finish it off. This might be a good thing to add to the new users/read first message at the top, a friendly request that posts be closed off if possible with the final result.
