Unhappy 98 F-150 4.6L No Power

Going up any hill, no matter how steep, truck falls flat on its face. Have no power what so ever. Any suggestions!

Well maybe it needs a good tune up has it been doing it for a while is it really bad maybe the engine aint gettin fuel or air or something like that

u could have a faulty Idle Air Control valve...everytime i would come to a stop whether its at a stop light, sign, or even to turn sumtimes, it would die...i replaced it and aint died since..

they can get really dirty and gunked up that the valve doesnt seat in properly...u can take it out and clean it with brake or carburetor cleaner, but expect the problem to be back in about a week

Clogged fuel filter? Dirty MAF? These are common power loss problems.
The IAC wouldn't effect power loss except at idle.

New Fuel Filter,
All The Power I Need In Town For 4.6
Its Just Climbin Hills Ithink Its In The Gearing
I Dont Know Alot About That.

THANKS FOR THE REPLYS ITS BEEN TUNED NEW FUEL FILTER ALL THE GOOD STUFF I THINK ITS IN THE GEARING GOOD POWER ANY WHERE ITS FLAT ITS JUST THE HILLS OR TOWING ANY THING DONT KNOW ALOT ABOUT GEARING

Red face same vehicle same problem

SCILO, I am having the same problem. Does your truck has manual tranny, 4 gears with O/D?
