66 Excaust Question
I have a 66' F-100 and i have a 390 in it. My excaust pipes are old and theres leaks in the excaust manifolds ect. I am putting in headers and a new excaust system. I was wondering if i should go with 2 1/2 inch or 3 inch excaust? Thanks for the help guys.

[font color=red size=4]I would go with a 2 1/2" duals with a high flow muffler, like a glasspack or Flowmaster. I think the 3" pipes would be unnecessary, unless the 390 is built up and run hard a high rpms, other wise the 2 1/2" is more than enough with duals.

66 Excaust Question
Doesn't make a lot of difference except maybe price. Whichever is cheaper. However, make sure to have them install a crossover pipe. There are several ways to determine how far back. I paint the duals about 30" back from the exhaust flange with black paint, drive the truck at optimum cruising speed (what ever you are comfortable with between 55-70 mph) and put the h-pipe where the hot spot shows up on the pipes. The hot spot will burn the paint off in a specific area. Someone else may have a better or more scientific way to do this.
