1963 f100 radiator

can anyone tell me if $60 is a good price for a junkyard radiator? i need one for my truck and that seems to be the best price i can find for one around here. (wisconsin) i dont know the condition of it yet i have not seen it yet. it is about 60 miles from my house. i am going to look at it tomorrow. any replies appreciated

You asked my opinion so here it is. A new radiator is only about 100-125 bucks. Take the mounting wings off your old radiator and have them mounted on a new core. The radiator shop you buy the core from can do all this for you and you end up with a new radiator rather than one you don't know anything about. Shop around for the best deal. OR, pay your $60, take it to the radiator shop to be cleaned, re-soldered, etc. and you end up spending about the same money for something that "almost" fits.
Good luck.

I'll agree with Skip, I would not drive 60 miles to look at a used radiator, that may leak when presureised but can't be at the yard. A new one would ba a good investment.

well heres an update. i went to look at the radiator and it was in really good shape. so i bought it. installed it yesterday and it worked perfect no leaks. i guess i got lucky. the reason i did not have the old one recored was the fact i didnt have an old one. i bought the truck in peices rust free from texas. with no drivetrain i used my old drivetrain from my rusted out f250 4wd. but the radiator from that one had a hole in both side tanks from the core support rotting away and the rad. hitting the frame.so that one was junk. thanks for the replies.
