Cool Truck will not start...HELP!!!!!!

hey guys...i really need sum help on this one...i gotta 97 F150 4.6L V8 4WD

my truck is not starting...the motor turns, but never cranks
the other night, i was backin out of my driveway, and my truck dies on me...i tried starting it but it doesnt do anything but turn the motor...so i had my dad come out to help...he got his volt meter and went to the fuel pump, unplugged the wire and said it had no voltage...so therefore my fuel pump has no fire in the wire to send to the pump...we checked all fuses and relays and all were in perfect working condition, even the fuel pump works good...but the day after it died, i came home after skool and it started right up, then today i was driving off from school and got about 100yds away and it dies on me in the street...REALLY BAD! and it wouldnt start back...so we decided to park it for a while until we get it fixed...im not really wanting to take it to Ford to work on it because of $$$/hour lol...

if u guys have any ideas plz post them...i really need sum help here...any help is appreciated

Sounds like maybe a loose wiring harness. I'm assuming your dad tested the wire correctly.

I had some starting issues in my 97 after going to a car wash she wouldnt fire back up. My problem ended up being very corroaded wires. The red positve from battery was rotted completley off at the starter and the black negative and grounds were all nasty also. I spliced on some good positive and sprayed the **** out the the grounds and negative with WD40. Started her back up. Aint had a problem since.

Further Inspection:

We took a wire, and put it on the + side of the battery and put it on a toggle switch that we connected to the ignition part, and the other end of the wire went to the fuel pump...we did this to bypass everything else that was in the process of gettin power to the fuel pump...after we hooked it up and all, we turned the ignition on and we heard the fuel pump kick in...then we tried starting it...just kept turning the motor...so then we had to do a lil bit more checking

my dad unhooked a plug wire from a spark plug and stuck a screwdriver in the wire to check and see if it was firing....he had me get into the cab and turn the motor over, but it resulted in no fire in the plugs...

we also checked to see if the Camshaft Position Sensor was good and see if the wiring harness plug had any voltage...the sensor was good but we had no voltage to the sensor

we then thought that the PCM may have went bizzerk on us and maybe by replacing it, it would fix the problem...it should be in by Wednesday...hopefully this is the problem

Hey Chris.
Two things to think about, When you checked the fuel pump, the fuel pump will not get any power if the computer does not see the engine trying to start within a few seconds. So if you turned on the key and went back to the pump, your time was out and the computer shut off power to the pump. Just a thought on the cam sensor, it produces a A/C voltage signal for the computer on this truck. You wont have voltage on it i believe, the sensor generates a signal to the computer. How many miles on your truck. Try this, turn everything off, windows up. turn the key to run, but dont start. Can you hear the fuel pump whine. turn the key off and repeat several times if needed. If the truck quits on you sometime try this trick. If you dont hear the pump cycle or prime up might be a pump on the way out. There is a test port on the fuel rail that you can check to see if you have fuel pressure. It will have a black cap, or should have one, and looks like a bycicle tire valve stem to put air in. If you push the valve core in the center of it, it should SPRAY FUEL, WATCH THE EYES. Let us know. Good luck.
