Folding Hard Tonneau lift struts

I have what seems to be a rare folding hard tonneau on my 2000 Ranger. I picked this up used but it did not have the lift stuts with it and I'm having a hell of a time finding them. It has a little small Ford sticker underneath with a number (IL54-10228A00). I'm told it's not a part number, maybe a serial, I have no idea. I have been told this was a Ford factory cover but my local parts dept says no. The problem is these struts are unique because the back ones are like 28 to 30 inches closed and only open an additional 6 inches. The front ones are even a different size.

Anyone have any idea where I can find these?

We make Truxedo soft tonneau covers, but I asked one of our engineers if he had any information on your struts. Here is what he said:

"I would tell the gentleman to go to a GOOD ford dealer. The cover he has was a dealer installed option on the 2001 Ford Ranger Edge. If they can’t order just the replacement struts then have him go to a “small town parts store”. Since the item won’t be able to be located by the vehicle make/model the counterman will have to know his stuff and open the old paper book from whoever their supplier is, to look up specifications. If he is able to identify which item he needs on the list he should be able to call the same “small town” parts store and they should be able to order it for him."

I've been looking for one of those forever. Almost bought one for my '01 ranger, snoozed and now I can't find it anywhere! Anybody know why it disappeared?

I've been trying to find one as well. Seems Ford discontinued them about a month after I got my truck. Dangit, I should have got it at the same time.
