Just installed a system and could not get the 4" downpipe to fit, put a 3.5" and it goes right in on my 05 F350. Is there a big enough advantage to run (meaning I will have to cut a screw and likely bend my firewall) the 4" vs. the 3.5" downpipe?
System is a 4" stainless (no cat) with a Aero-Turbine 4040 muffler to a 5" tip.
System is in place, welding this weekend and want to know if the 4" and mods to get it in there are worth it or not.
Truck is used for recreational fun and future towing (uknown when...)
Thanks!

Reason: typo
i had hell putting my 3.5 inch in on my 05 F250 i don't even want to think about a 4inch. i had to bend part of my firewall in to keep enough distance away from each other so the damn thing wouldn't rattle. I heard many people say that it is kinda good to have alittle back pressure at the turbo so why take away anymore just stay with 3.5". I have a 3.5" down pipe and 4" exhuast out and i have pulled the world with this thing and never had problem with EGT's getting out of control.
I know that in order for a 4" downpipe to fit on a Superduty with a 6.0L in it, the pinchweld on the firewall must be bent back to where its touching the firewall.
The system will have the approx flow of an entire 3.5 exhaust but the sound will be different. In any pipe with flow the tightest restriction will dictate the total cfm. Other variables being kept the same.
