Sway Bars

Is it ok to weld the brackets for the bars to the trailer frame. I can not get mine tight even with an impact wrench? I have the bar style sway bars.

Are you talking about sway controls or Weight dis. bars? If your talking about WD bars I would not advise it. All external sway controls I have ever seen mount on a ball type mount. One ball on the trailer frame and one ball on the WD hitch itself. If your WD brackets won't tighten up on the frame then I think you got the wrong brackets for the type of frame your mounting to. My WD brackets fit the frame snugly and have one long bolt that tightens up against the inside of the TT frame. There is no way to really mess it up unless you put them too far back or foward. They should slide right on top of the frame and then just tighten the one bolt.
