front coil spring ?

hello, i have a 1991 f-150 4x4 and i am wanting to install daystar spring spacers in the front. i tried using a 1 1/8" socket and it seems like it is stripping the nut. 1 1/16" wont fit and 27mm will not fit either. my question is, does anyone know what size the nut is on the bottom of the coil springs? i need to buy the correct socket for the spring. also, any info on installing them would be appreciated. also, what is the biggest size tire that will fit? thanks

For what it's worth my 1977 F150 2wd is 1-1/8". Is the nut all rusty? You might want to try and heat the nut up with a propane torch and then spray on some penetrating oil and then see if yoy can get the nut off. Also try a wrench from the side between the spring coils. Make sure your socket is in good shape and not cracked. I actually broke mine trying to loosen the same nut you are talking about.

1 1/8" all the way to 96'.Are you using a 6 or 12 pt. socket?A good 6 pt. should do it(a chinese socket probably won't work).Agree with cujo,I usually heat the nut with propane and soak with P/B or 556,the heat will draw the lube in.
