Can anyone tell me where the vacuum opening at the very top, passenger side if the 1 barrel carburetor is supposed to run? it is the line that has its opening just above the butterfly inside the throttel body.
Can anyone tell me what "wot" stands for on the emission diagram?
WOT = wide open throttle. Autozone has free vacuum diagrams; go to www.autozone.com, click "vehicle repair guides", "emissions & driveability", and "vacuum diagrams".
If you are talking about a port about 1/2 inch long on the top (feed horn) of the carb that comes out at and angle. It is part of the heat riser to the choke.
A short rubber hose connect to a metal line that runs to the bottom of the exhaust manifold about Cyl. 5 and it is a heat chamber. Another metal line runs from the chamber on top of the manifold and to the brass fitting on the choke.

How about it, Mil!ion, master of the pictures, do you have a pictorial diagram of this in your stuff anywhere? Mine is missing as well and I would like to recreate it.
Not realy much to it. The steel line (any steel line will do) to the bottom makes about 4 bends and goes to the chamber. It looks like a **** about 1 1/4 inch across and 1/2 high. the line went into the side. you may need to drill and install a new niple.
The top line to the choke can be purchased at any autoparts store in the "Help" section. The "Choke tube" I purchased was for a Chev.. and worked just fine. When you purchase the tube kit you can see the size of the bottom line. You cut and bend as needed to fit!
The a short pcs of rubber line to tie the bottom line to the carb.
If you look over the intake and down between intake runners 4-5 or 5-6 on top of the exhaust manifold. You will see some part of the OEM riser to a small hole or what may look like a rusted off screw head! That is where the riser adapter installs for the choke side.

I've got the output from the manifold up to the choke housing OK. I wasn't aware that there was an input to that heat chamber. I have a plugged (I think?) short hose on the aforementioned port on the air horn. I never knew what it was for, tonight I'm going to where I have the truck stored and look at it. I wondered where the input line went to that heat chamber exactly. I will look at the side to see if I can see it, that's why I thought a picture would be worth 1,000 words. I seem to remember a hole in the top of the exhaust manifold near there, I wonder if that's it.
Well I went and worked on the truck this afternoon. The inlet to the heat chamber was right where you said on the side of the exhaust manifold. Had to drill out the remains of the old tube with a 1/4" drill, then ran a new tube from there up to the carb and joined it to the port with a 1/4" hose. Truck runs better and quieter now, I was able to lean out the idle mixture about 1/4 turn now that its not sucking in all that extra air.
Thanks again for the help and knowledge, I never cease to be amazed at the wealth of information available here.
