Stay put in the channel of the metal piece that goes up and down with the glass? My testosterone fuelled SIL got a little overzealous with the crank and as a result the glass and the channel piece became separated. I can put it back together, of course, but it only stays within the channel for a couple of weeks and then it pops out again. The manual says that a glass shop has a "special process/tool" for closing the channel over the bottom of the glass. Does anybody have the inside scoop on how the DIY guy can fix this? Everytime I pull the panel off of the door I have to replace the fasteners, retape the dust barrier etc. etc. and it's getting to be a PITA.
On my old work truck ,I've cleaned channel and siliconed the glass in ,lasted for 2 years till I parted out truck. I was carefull on cold icy days . Hope someone has a good fix for you. Good luck

I asked the guys in our auto glass division at work.( I work for a glass co.) They said some windows are crimped in with a special tool, however they rarely recrimp them because it is easy to break the glass. Thay always clean the channel good with denatured alcohol and use a urethane based caulk to glue the glass in.
Hi Guys! Thank you for your excellent replies! I will start searching for a urethane caulk right away! It is such a PITA not being able to use the window.
