okay, I have 5 bad glow plugs. autozone has the motorcraft, and the international dealer tells me his brand are international. I will find out in the morning. I need all advice on removal, I do not want to break any tips. Mine are the originals 93 f250 160k, garage kept. I sprayed penetrating oil on them tonight. I appreciate everyones response on my other posts. I just don't want to screw this up. what is the top dead center removal technique. and what is beru. is this a different manufacturer.
thanks for all the help
this site is better than any service manual.
Best way to do it is to just start taking them loose and if you encounter any resistance after that they may be starting to break off the tip. That's when I usually will spray more WD on it and screw them back in a bit. Sometimes just going in and out until they get tough will loosen them up. If not, that's when you want to try spinning that cylinder to TDC and pull that injector and put a small magnet down into the pre-cup to try and catch the piece as it breaks off.
As for tools, I use a 1/4 drive ratchet, 6 inch extention, U-joint, and finally a 3/8" deep socket.
