Can anybody give me the wiring colors for 1965 F-100 turn signals? The previous owner installed a late 70's column in this truck and never hooked up the turn signals. I just bought the truck and can't even drive it (it's a shame really), mainly because it looks so sweeet! I also am in need of some wiring colors for a 67 or 68 model for the turn signals. As this is the year truck I just pulled a column out of yesterday.
Thanks guys, I get alot of good help between two places.

In the still cool hours of the night,
you can hear chevys rusting away.
I'll get at the column thing this weekend. I also have some wires that were disconnected, and not hooked back up so I guess I'm going to have to buy a wiring diagram book for a 65. I did manage to find something the other day that I figured was long gone. The original choke cable, was just stuffed under the dash inside the truck. It wasn't kinkned so that made me happy!
LAST EDITED ON 23-Jan-01 AT 09:43 PM (EST)[p]Recently connected my 72 column to a 66 wiring harness. Turn signal wire on a stock 66 should be the same as a 65 but am not sure. One side front had white/blue and the other front had green white. Both used the black/yellow wire for a common. This ran direct to light switch, other two ran direct up to top of column. Rear used on the same side as front with white/blue, a green wire. Other side rear used a yellow black(not same as black/yellow in front. The common wire for both sides rear was the brown, which ran direct to light switch. the other rear wires ran up to the top of the column, as the fronts do. The rear wires connect to the column using the small 2 wire plastic connector. On my swap, some of the colors were so faded both on the 72 and 66 that I had to do some serious planning and the process of elimination to get everything right. Good Luck on it!
I'm not sure, but my truck might have the same column you're describing. Does yours have the ignition switch on the column? Mine has both the switch and the four way switch mounted on the column. But the new column I have doesn't have either one. Luckily the truck I got it out of was just right.
That's why I have to look for wiring diagrams. I got the 67 diagram from Stockman, but with the info you guys have come up with I might just be able to do it, especially with the help of the colors John gave and an ohmeter, I just might make it.
Thanks guys, I'll let you know how it goes. Even though I probably won't be able to get into it until Saturday evening or Sunday.
You are indeed a lifesaver. Thanks, now I can wait a couple more weeks to order the cd-rom manuals from the online store. I have to pay almost all of the gas from my little trip! You have to figure I was paying for at least 3/4 of all of the gas we used. And after 2400 miles I am scared to even think about the bill.
I'll probably end up hollaring in you're direction sometime this weekend, that's when I preferebly want to tear into it. Also, does anybody know where I can lay my hands on a heater core? The heater core in this truck has been disconnected and I am suspecting a Leaky core. I will call the former owner tonight just to make sure though.
I also have some pictures to pick up tomorrow, I can't wait to get tem back. I went off and left both of my cameras at the house, and didn't remember until we were already on the other side of San Antonio, which is 5 hours from my house.
